Louisiana Groups: Arbor Day is no Cause for Celebration in State

BATON ROUGE – A coalition of environmental organizations marked Arbor Day in Louisiana by calling attention to serious threats to the state’s forests from short-sighted policies and lack of responsible oversight. Our Forests Aren’t Fuel!

Big business wants Europeans to pay them to burn your forests for energy. Biomass Secure Power Inc. of Canada, Drax Biomass International of the United Kingdom and Point Bio Energy of Wisconsin are in the process of building facilities at the Port of Baton Rouge that will manufacture wood pellets out of trees from Louisiana forests and then ship them to Europe to be burned in power plants and furnaces. Check out the investigative video below!…
